Saints do Harington’s Hotel Spa Day in Bath

I don’t know about you but these baltic winter months are pretty much my least favourite time of year in the UK. I think they make a convincing case for hibernation! However, if there was anything that was going to get us out the front door in January, it was going to be a spa day in Bath.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a blogger event at Harington’s Hotel. The place caught our eye as it is in the perfect location to explore Bath centre, but happily hidden away from prying eyes (no seriously, it was pretty hidden, we couldn’t find the front door). A Grade II listed building, it fits right in with the gorgeous Georgian architecture which makes Bath so famous. And as it had been a few weeks since we’d ventured back to the hometown, we accepted with glee and hurried to Harington’s to see what they had to offer.

Harington’s Hotel Spa Day in Bath

Sir John Harington (inventor of the flushable toilet FYI) is the namesake of this boutique hotel. The #haringtonsspaday kicked off with a delicious espresso martini on arrival (one of our favourites!) as well as a spread of lip-smacking canapes and Charlotte Brunswick artisan chocolates. Now, I can honestly say that I’m in love with the cocoa… but these were out of this world. Two words for you: Salted. Caramel.

Suitably sugared up, we took a little tour of the hotel to check out some of the rooms. Each room has been thoughtfully and individually decorated – just the thing for a getaway to remember. Plus, the little touches are spot on, like welcome cupcakes on arrival.

Also, this little hotel isn’t just for couples. If you’re thinking of visiting Bath with a group or with a family, there’s the option of renting one of the townhouse apartments located just up the street. Perfect for those that want a bit more of their own space.

But what’s a spa day in Bath without bubbles? Luckily, for us, we had two varieties of bubbles to choose from because not only were we given more than a few glasses of bubbly, we got the chance to hop in Harington’s hot tub, situated in its own private courtyard out back. For around £7.50 pp you can enjoy your own private hot tub hour under the crisp blue sky – robes, towels and slippers provided. We just couldn’t resist!

Lush Cosmetics at Harington’s Hotel

Actually, what’s a spa day in Bath without a selection of sumptuous spa products? The lovely Lush Cosmetics peeps dropped by to chat about their new in-store spa treatment facility (we’ve written a whole post on how, er, lush the Lush spa is) where you can get soothing massages and a range of other revitalising spa treatments. They also brought with them a bunch of fizzy bath bombs, creamy massage bars and other Lush products that look good enough to eat.

We love a bit of Lush, especially on our travels when its tough to find that mix of practical yet yummy products to keep you pampered – we also wrote a post about some of our favourite Lush goodies for when we are on the move.

Finally, the sun set on our spa day in Bath with a gorgeous Harington’s Hotel afternoon tea – only fitting seeing as this is Bath, one of the super hot hangouts of 18th and 19th high society. And that lot loved their tea parties. We bid Harington’s farewell with tasty samples of Sarah’s Heavenly Fudge and Alara Wholefoods snacks (as if we hadn’t indulged enough) and a cute Harington’s ceramic bath tub (which is screaming out for some succulents).

Final verdict: Harington’s Hotel strikes the right balance of stylish boutique hotel with a seriously welcoming vibe, thanks to the lovely team that work there. Plus, the central Bath location is nigh on unbeatable.

Thanks to Peter, Amy, the Harington team and the other Bristol and London bloggers who contributed to a lovely afternoon.

Oh my god this looks amazing! I was in Bath a very long time ago, and never thought to try a spa day. Definitely on my list when I go back!

You would love the Thermae Spa then! Such a lovely experience sitting in the heated rooftop pool, looking out over the city. Enjoy!
